Shopmark was opened

October 26, 2018

In Hungary a complete shopping center renovation was completed for the first time.

The reconstruction of the Shopmark, which is owned by Magyar Posta Takarék Ingatlan Befektetési Alap (which is managed by Diófa Alapkezelő Inc.) was started in February by the KÉSZ Építő Inc., and it was handed over on 25. October.

The 24.000 square meter area SHOPMARK – one of the biggest shopping centers in Kispest – was opened. The interior renewal works has been started in April 2018, during which – for the first time in Hungary – a shopping center renewal was executed while it was completely closed. After a nearly 6 months of intensive works, Shopmark came back with an expanded new renting and shop offers, and a number of new trade marks this autumn.

During the complete reconstruction of the shopping center – among others – the facades, the building engineering, the area organization and the interior design was renewed, for the interest of both the renters and the buyer audience, as well as from the viewpoint of the real estate, to create new and real values. According to this, a community approached, updated and a barrier-free building was opened for the customers, performing all this with as small as possible ecological footprint.

„I’m very proud of the fact that we can welcome again the Shopmark customers, this time with a modern environment and a renewed exterior. This is a major milestone in the building’s history, which has been existing since 1997. In the past few months we sought – together with our renters – to open such a shopping center, where we can provide the adequate standards and offers for all ages!" – said Mr. Balázs Czifra, leader of the property investment branch of the Diófa Alapkezelő Inc.

In the weeks prior to the hand-over, a parallel work performance was performed on both on the building, and its surroundings, as well as in approximately 90 store premises. As a result of this cooperation, most of the stores have already taken their places and are open to those interested.
